ST. GEORGE, Utah. – Dixie State and California Baptist each won a game on Friday in the NCAA West Regional, setting up a rematch in the finals. Dixie State beat CBU in the winner’s bracket and CBU then knocked off Chico State in an elimination game. The Red Storm and Lancers will face off in the regional final series on Saturday at 12 p.m. MDT.
 
Dixie State needs just one win, while CBU will need to win twice to advance to the West Super Regional.

Dixie State shutout California Baptist, 11-0, in a winner’s bracket game to advance to the regional final. The Red Storm scored eight runs in the second inning, highlighted by a grand slam from Courtney Sherwin. Michelle Duncan struck out three in 4.0 shutout innings.

CBU rebounded to beat Chico State for the second time in an elimination game, 9-2. Krista Mann hit a three-run home run in the third inning. Loie Kesterson earned the complete game victory, allowing five hits and striking out four.
