IRVINE, Calif. -- Chaminade, Hawai`i Pacific and Hawai`i Hilo all went 5-0 in their trips to Northern California over a span of just eight days to take over three of the top four spots in the PacWest standings.
 
Going back to Thursday, September 26, PacWest visiting teams have a 23-1 record over the last 10 days. The only home team to win a match during that span was Azusa Pacific, which defeated Biola in four sets on Saturday to remain undefeated this season in PacWest play. In the win, freshman Annaka Jorgenson had a team-high 15 kills, while Julianne Miller had two blocks to move up to second on the PacWest all-time blocks list.
 
Hawai`i Pacific’s Collie Cameryn averaged 4.69 kills per set in the Sharks’ four wins, while Amanda Acosta added a league-best 84 digs last week. In its four wins, Chaminade was led statistically by Emma Tecklenburg who had 50 kills in 13 sets to push her career total to 1,093. Rachel Reedy registered 41 kills with a .378 attack percentage for the Silverswords.
 
This week, the Southern California schools take their turn to go out of pod. Biola and Concordia will be in Hawai`i with matches starting on Wednesday with Chaminade hosting Biola. Azusa Pacific is looking to stay undefeated against PacWest teams with matches scheduled against Dominican and Notre Dame de Namur. On Saturday, Academy of Art will travel to Fresno Pacific for its second match of the week after facing Dominican on Wednesday.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bria Beale, Hawai`i Hilo
OH, Jr., 5-11 -- Eastvale, Calif.
During the Vulcans’ five-match winning streak, Beale has had at least 12 kills in every win. This week, she had 71 kills in four wins, averaging 5.07 kills per set. Beale recorded two double-doubles with 20 kills and 14 digs in three sets against Fresno Pacific. She added another 20-kill performance with 18 digs in five sets against Notre Dame de Namur. Against Holy Names, Beale had a .417 attack percentage with 19 kills and two blocks. Beale now has 207 kills this season, which leads the PacWest. She also has a .229 attack percentage.
 
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Abigail Copeland, Biola
MB, Fr., 6-2 -- Olathe, Kansas
Copeland tallied 16 blocks in eight sets last week to become the PacWest leader in blocks per set, averaging 1.21, which ranks 23rd nationally. Copeland also had 13 kills with only one attack error as she ranked second in the conference this week in attack percentage. The freshman had eight blocks against both Point Loma and Azusa Pacific. Against the Cougars, three of her blocks were solo efforts. Copeland now has 51 blocks and her attack percentage is .281, which ranks second on the team.
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Emily Wade, Hawai`i Hilo
MB, Fr., 6-3 -- Sacramento, Calif.
After leading Hawai`i Hilo to four wins in one week, Wade became the PacWest leader in blocks for the season. The freshman tallied 10 blocks to improve her season total to 61. In the Vulcans’ five-set victory, Wade notched 21 kills and had to solo blocks. Against Holy Names, she had nine kills and no errors on 11 attacks. Wade had an attack percentage of .448 last week, which was the best in the PacWest.
