The No. 3-seeded Silverswords improved to 23-6 on the season and will face No. 2 seed Concordia at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. No. 6 seed Holy Names finishes the 2018-19 season with a 12-16 record after advancing to the PacWest Championships for the first time in program history.

Chaminade went 13 for 24 from beyond the arc in the victory. Erik Scheive and Andre Arissol hit back-to-back 3-pointers just three minutes into the game to give the Silverswords’ their first lead, which they held onto for the rest of the game.

Grant Dressler registered 34 points, which is the second-most points in tournament history as he led the Silverswords’ offense to a PacWest Championships record 108 points. Dressler made 8 of 14 shots from the field, including 4 of 8 from 3-point territory. He was also a perfect 14 for 14 from the free-throw line, including some crucial free throws in the final seconds of the game.

Chaminade made stops on the final three possessions of the game to secure the victory. In its history, Chaminade is now 7-3 in PacWest Championships games as they look to win their second PacWest Tournament title after taking home the trophy in 2014.

Friday’s semifinal meeting between Concordia and Chaminade will be the third between the two regionally-ranked teams this year. Chaminade won the first meeting at home, before Concordia split the season series with an overtime victory in Irvine, California. Both teams are in contention for a spot in the NCAA West Regional, and Friday’s semifinal will have big implications for both teams.
