Shao, McClure Win First Golfer Of The Week Awards

IRVINE, Calif. – Zachary McClure won the first NCAA Division II men’s golf event in the West Region, taking first place in the Sonoma State Fall Invitational while helping Holy Names take sixth place as a team. Academy of Art women’s golf took third place at the True North Classic and Judy Shao finished in the top 10.

MEN

GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Zachary McClure, Holy Names

McClure won the 2019 Sonoma State Fall Invitational with a score of 2-over-par 218. McClure was in a tie for third place going into the final round of the tournament and shot an even-par 72 to move into first place and win the tournament by one shot. He helped Holy Names finish in sixth place out of nine teams.

WOMEN

Shao finished in seventh place at the True North Classic in Richmond, Canada. The sophomore shot an 8-over-par 152 to earn the top-10 finish. Shao shot a 2-over-par 74 in the first round and was in fifth place in the tournament. She helped Academy of Art take third place as a team with a score of 48-over-par 624.
