IRVINE, Calif. -- Academy of Art earned its first win in program history over an NCAA Division I program last night, beating UC Davis, 79-60.
 
This is the third time this rare accomplishment has been done this season with Academy of Art joining Point Loma and Hawai`i Hilo. However, unlike the other two PacWest teams, the Urban Knights got this win on the road.
 
It was a balanced effort for the Urban Knights on the offensive end with six different players scoring between nine and 14 points in the win. Latrell Williams finished the contest with his second double-double of the week, scoring 13 points with 11 rebounds as Academy of Art made 8 of 13 shots from beyond the arc.
 
Fresno Pacific was a perfect 6-0 in the month of November, beating five CCAA opponents, including Sonoma State and San Francisco State last week. The Sunbirds are one of only five undefeated teams remaining in the West Region with the other four all being from the CCAA.
 
Concordia won both of its games this week, including a win over Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Eagles won 76-73 after Jalen Sanders made two free throws to go ahead by three. The Toros attempted four three-pointers in the final minute to tie the game, but none of them went down as Concordia held on for its second win.
 
Azusa Pacific picked up its first two wins of the season, snapping out of a slow start by beating Cal State LA and Northwest Nazarene. Holy Names also finished the week with a win by beating Sonoma State, 72-62, which is the team’s first NCAA Division II win of the season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Wayne Arnold, Concordia
G, Jr., 6-3 -- South Central, Calif.
Arnold is averaging 27.7 points per game so far this year, making him the national leading scorer after he equaled his season high with 32 points in a win over Bethesda. Arnold averaged 30.5 points this week in wins over Cal State Dominguez Hills and Bethesda. He opened the week with 29 points on 11-of-21 shooting against the Toros. He added two steals, a block and four rebounds in the win. Two days later, he scored 32 points with a season-high seven rebounds against Bethesda. Arnold made 10 of 24 shots, including 5 of 16 from beyond the arc. In six games so far this year, he has scored at least 24 points in every game to help the Eagles to a 3-3 start on the season. He leads the conference in points, field goals and 3-pointers this season and is on pace to break the PacWest’s eight-year-old record for points per game in a season.
 
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Jesse Elrod, Biola
F, Sr., 6-9 -- Pasadena, Calif.
Biola’s defense held opponents to just 55.7 points per game last week as the Eagles improved to 6-1 on the season with three wins over NAIA programs. Elrod led the conference for the week in blocks while playing limited minutes in the lop-sided wins as Biola won by an average margin of 39 points. Elrod finished the week with a total of seven blocks and has recorded a block in every game he has played so far this year. He opened the week with a pair of blocks against San Diego Christian to go along with three rebounds in just 15 minutes of work. The following day, he had a season-high three blocks in a win over La Sierra. Then on Saturday, Elrod registered his first double-double of the season with 20 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. He averaged 4.75 blocks per 40 minutes this week and had a total of 20 defensive rebounds for Biola, which remains among the top-10 teams in the D2SIDA West Region rankings.
