Cekala's Hat Trick For ART U Tops Weekly Honors

IRVINE, Calif. – Point Loma, Academy of Art and Hawai`i Pacific all extended their leads in their respective pods with a win last week, including a 5-0 win by the Urban Knights, in which Adrian Cekala recorded seven points.
 
Academy of Art is now in first place by five points in the PacWest NorCal Pod after getting a revenge victory against Holy Names to conclude the season for the Urban Knights.
 
Hawai`i Hilo won its season opener against Chaminade to enter into a tie for first place with Hawai`i Pacific ahead of their encounter on Sunday. The Sharks won that battle for first place in the Hawai`i Pod, 1-0.

In the SoCal Pod, Point Loma remained in first place with their fourth-consecutive win, which is the longest active winning streak in the PacWest this season. The Sea Lions defeated Biola 1-0 for their second shutout win of the season.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Adrian Cekala, Academy of Art
F, Sr., 6-0 – Lubeck, Germany
Cekala recorded a hat trick on Friday to lead the Urban Knights to a 5-0 victory in the rematch against Holy Names to split the season series. Cekala also had one assist to become the 23rd player in PacWest history to score seven points in a single game. Cekala scored the first goal of the game and also scored on a penalty kick. He had six shots on four on goal. The senior has scored a total of six goals this season.

HAWAI`I PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Paul Enzigmueller, Hawai`i Pacific
M, Sr., 6-0 – Zimdorf, Germany
Enzigmueller scored the game-winning goal in Hawai`i Pacific’s second-consecutive 1-0 victory. The senior lined up to take a penalty kick in the 81st minute to break a scoreless tie, but his attempt was blocked. Enzigmueller was the first to get to the deflection and quickly took a shot, scoring the only goal of the game to make the Sharks 2-0 on the season.
 
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Corey Lundeen, Point Loma
M, Jr., 5-8 – Arroyo Grande, Calif.
Lundeen pushed Point Loma’s record on the season to 4-0-0 by scoring the game-winning goal in the Sea Lions’ 1-0 triumph against Biola. The junior scored just 20 seconds into the second half. Lundeen’s first shot got blocked into the air and he headed the deflection into the back of the net for the only goal of the game.
