IRVINE, Calif. -- Point Loma, Azusa Pacific and Hawai`i Hilo all go into the first week of PacWest play with a winning streak of three or more as teams begin the race for the coveted PacWest title and the automatic bid into the NCAA West Regional that comes with it.
 
Point Loma remained undefeated on the season with its third win, beating Central Washington in historic fashion. The Sea Lions had six different players score in a 6-1 win, setting a new school record for highest-scoring win since joining the NCAA. Courtney Jo Seman scored one goal and assisted two others in the win.
 
Azusa Pacific has a league-best five wins after beating Cal State LA and Cal State Dominguez Hills last week. The Cougars are outscoring their opponents 12-4 so far this season with Randi Macadangdang and Maddy Morrison each scoring three goals.
 
Hawai`i Hilo has not allowed a single goal in its three wins this season. The Vulcans have been led by Daelenn Tokunaga, who has a league-best five goals so far this season. Hawai`i Hilo has a lot of new faces on the roster for this season, and the group has started to gel just in time for its first PacWest match next week.
 
Biola picked up its second win of the season, beating Cal State LA 1-0. The Eagles have earned both of their wins against teams that qualified for the 2019 NCAA Division II West Regional. This week, Point Loma will face Western Washington in a rematch of the 2019 West Regional Championship Match on Monday. Then on Saturday, the Sea Lions start the PacWest season against Fresno Pacific.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Maddy Morrison, Azusa Pacific

Azusa Pacific now has a league-best five wins after defeating Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State LA last week to extend the Cougars’ winning streak to four in a row. The Cougars scored four goals in the two wins and Morrison played a part in three of those goals with one goal and two assists. The senior scored her third goal of the season in the 22nd minute against Cal State Dominguez Hills to tie the score 1-1. Later in the half, Azusa Pacific took a 2-1 lead and then Morrison assisted an insurance goal in the 60th minute as the Cougars won the match 3-1. Morrison also assisted the game-winning goal when Azusa Pacific defeated Cal State LA, 1-0, on Saturday. In the opening minutes of the second half, she sent a pass to Bethany Tee, who passed to Ella Romero for the only goal of the game. Morrison leads the PacWest in assists with three and shots with 16.
 
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Anna Boyer, Biola

Boyer allowed only one goal despite facing 43 shots in 180 minutes in goal to help the Eagles go 1-1 for the week. The Eagles started the week with a 1-0 shutout victory over Cal State LA. Boyer made seven saves in the win for her second shutout of the season for the Eagles. On Saturday, Biola faced the defending NCAA West Region Champion Western Washington and dropped the match 1-0 despite a strong performance by Boyer in net. The freshman faced 23 shots from the Vikings and saved five of the six shots that were on frame. She now has 26 saves on the season with a 92.9 save percentage. Boyer’s goals-against average is now a league-best 0.47 in 382 minutes in goal. Biola is one of four PacWest teams that will go into the fourth week of the season with multiple wins and both of those wins were against teams that reached the postseason during the last full women’s soccer season.
