Four PacWest teams went unbeaten last week as conference play tipped off. The APU Cougars won for the fifth and sixth consecutive times to earn the Team of the Week, beating their two opponents by a combined 49 points. PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Concordia’s Lance Coleman II, F, 6-6, 205, Gr., Antioch, Calif.

Lance Coleman II helped pull his team out of the doldrums with a 31-point performance during a 77-71 upset of Academy of Art. The Golden Eagles had surprisingly dropped five straight games and the Urban Knights began the week ranked second in the D2SIDA West Region poll. In addition to the 31 points, Coleman’s evening included 10 rebounds. The former Cal State Northridge standout had 42 points for the week and is now averaging 23.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and is shooting a blistering 26-for-56 (46 percent) on three's this season. He has also scored in double-figures in all of Concordia's seven games.
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK: Hawai`i Hilo’s Nadjrick Peat, F/C, Soph., 6-11, 220, Alexandria, Jamaica

Nadjrick Peat made his large presence known during road victories over Hawaii Pacific and Chaminade. Peat had a total of six blocked shots and 16 rebounds as the Vulcans began PacWest play 2-0. He also had 31 points on the offensive end. In the 71-66 win over the Sharks, the former New Mexico Military Institute player had 16 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots, and one monster dunk on a fastbreak. The native Jamaican hit 13 of his 16 shots and leads the PacWest in field goal percentage with sizzling .794 marksmanship. He also has a large lead at the top of the blocked shots category with 2.8 per game.
RED HOT COUGARS CONTINUE RED HOT RUN: The PacWest Team of the Week is the
AZUSA PACIFIC COUGARS. APU won their fifth and sixth straight games, toppling Holy Names (81-52) and Fresno Pacific (76-58). The Cougars have now won six straight contests, which included four in a row over GNAC schools prior to the start of conference play. APU is now tied for third in the latest D2SIDA West Region poll with a 7-2 overall record.

BIG EARLY SEASON GAMES HIGHLIGHT WEEK TWO: Point Loma plays at Biola (Wednesday) and Azuza Pacific (Saturday) in a duo of big December games this week. Concordia will take short trips to APU (Wednesday) and Biola (Saturday), while other Saturday games include Hawaii Pacific at Hawaii Hilo, Chaminade at Academy of Art and Fresno Pacific at Dominican.
