AUGUSTA, GA - Point Loma's Kaden Anderson has been named the D2CIDA Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 16-22.
Anderson averaged 29.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game to lead PLNU to a pair of road wins in the Bay Area. The victories extended the Sea Lions' winning streak to 14 games, as they have not lost since the calendar turned to December.
The forward from Enumclaw, Wash., opened the weekend with a 28-point, nine-rebound performance against Dominican. He then posted his fourth 30-point game of the season in a win over defending PacWest Tournament Champions, Academy of Art. Anderson hit a career-high six 3-pointers as he went 6-for-10 from behind the arc. He also added 14 rebounds, two steals, and a block.
The fifth-year senior leads the PacWest in scoring by nearly four points per game (23.0 ppg) and is tied for second in rebounds (8.9 rpg). He paces NCAA Division II with 482 points on the season. Anderson is also ranked in the top 10 in Division II in double-doubles (8), free throws (104), and rebounds (186).
