Academy of Art took out a Chaminade team that had won two games on their NorCal trip, paced by Quintin Metcalf's 23 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots. Jessup won its first ever PacWest Defender of the Week award via Aydan Janssan's back-to-back big rebound games.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Academy of Art's Quintin Metcalf, F, Sr., 6-8, Wurzburg, Germany
Academy of Art's Quintin Metcalf earned his second PacWest Player of the Week award of 2024-25, leading the Urban Knights to a 93-74 win over Chaminade. The second-year ART U player and first-year Urban Knight starter had 23 points in the 19-point win, along with seven rebounds, five blocked shots and a steal. The German native was 7-of-9 from the field and 9-of-10 from the free throw line in cruising to season high totals in points, field goals and free throws. The 6-foot-8 forward has scored in double figures in nine of ART U's 11 games and is averaging 12.4 points a contest.
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK: Jessup's Aydan Janssan, W, Sr., 6-5, 235, Highbury, Australia
Jessup's Aydan Janssan was a monster on the glass all week, helping the Warriors to a split of games. The senior had 15 boards during a 72-68 conference win over fellow former GSAC member Menlo, with 13 of the rebounds coming on the defensive end of the court. In a narrow 80-73 loss to Vanguard, the Australian pulled down 14 caroms, and added a double-double point tally of 11. In the two games, 23 of his 29 rebounds were on defense. The second-year Warriors is now averaging 8.8 rebounds a game and 11.4 points. This is the first PacWest Defender of the Week award for first-year member Jessup.
TEAM OF THE WEEK: Academy of Art Urban Knights
Academy of Art wasted little time in cooling off visiting Chaminade on Saturday at Keizer Pavillion, outscoring the Silverswords 49-32 in the first half before rolling to a 93-74 victory. In doing so, the Urban Knights improved to 3-1 in PacWest play (7-4 overall) and handed Chaminade just its third loss of the season (9-3) and second in conference play (3-2) while snapping CUH's four-game winning streak. When the final horn went off, seven ART U players had scored at least eight points and five Urban Knights were in double figures.
Quintin Metcalf led the way with a 23 points (see above), while
Rodney Munson had 16,
Robbie Armbrester had 12,
Treylon Payne added 12 and seven assists and
Isaiah Williams chipped in 11. It was the fifth win in the last six games for Academy of Art.

Fresno Pacific stunned last week's Team of the Week Concordia with a 77-72 win at home. The Sunbirds outscored the Golden Eagles 47-38 after the break for their first conference win of the year.
Isaac Peralta led the way for FPU with 22 points and eight rebounds, while
Liam Switzer added 17 points and six boards...
Azusa Pacific kicked off the week on Tuesday with a 80-79 win over CS San Bernardino in a rematch of last year's West Region final.
Maui Sze's lay-up with eight seconds left was the difference.
Charlie Gehler had 26 points to pace the Cougars...Before running into the Urban Knights,
Chaminade posted two impressive victories in northern California. The Silverswords clipped Menlo 92-88, using 23 points each from
Kent King and
Amound Anderson, and followed that up with a 76-70 victory over Dominican.
Fletcher MacDonald had 19 for CUH against the Penguins, who were led by
Jaayden Bush's 14 points, nine rebounds and seven steals...On Wednesday,
Westmont topped Fresno Pacific 69-62, with
Adrian McIntyre leading the way as usual with 25 points, four rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Jarrett Bryant added 18 points and eight rebound for the Warriors...There were some impressive stat lines on both sides of the score sheet in
Jessup's 72-68 win over
Menlo. In addition to JU's

Anthony Enoh had 25 points and 14 rebounds for the Warriors (Enoh had 35 points, four blocks and 24 rebounds on the week). For Menlo,
Preston Le Gassick had 23 points and seven steals and
Landon Seaman had 20 points and nine rebounds. Seaman, who had 23 points and 10 rebounds against Chaminade, had 58 points and 23 rebounds in three games last week...
Hawai`i Pacific lost a 45-43 hearbreaker to unbeaten Wooster (10-0), the No. 6 ranked team in Division III. But the Sharks bounced back with a 80-66 win over Colorado State-Pueblo, using a 42-17 first half to race past the 8-4 Thunderwolves.
Sherman Brashear had 22 points and 10 rebounds for HPU...
Vanguard clipped Jessup (80-73) on Saturday, behind
Leonard Turner's 20 points. The Lions improved to 8-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play...
