PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Concordia's Rylie Rohr, SS, Sr., 5-7, Yucca Valley, Calif.

Concordia's Rylie Rohr went yard three times last week for home runs number 41, 42, and 43 in her career. The 5-foot-7 shortstop went 9-for-21 (.429) over seven games to help the Golden Eagles go 5-2 on the week. The 43rd home run, No. 1 on Concordia's career list, came during a 1-0 win over CS Monterey Bay. Rohr also had round trippers in each game of a doubleheader split with No. 19 nationally ranked CS San Marcos. The fourth-year starting shortstop for the Golden Eagles drove in six runs, scored four times, had two doubles and walked four times in winning her second Player of the Week award this season.

Koelmans gave up just two earned runs in those five appearances, and she fanned 12 batters in a 2-1 loss to the Nighthawks and struckout 10 more during a two-hit shutout of CS San Marcos. The fourth-year Golden Eagle, who led all of Division II last season with a 1.11 ERA, now has a miniscule 0.89 ERA with a 13-2 record and two saves.

WINNING STREAK ENDS BUT NOT TEAM OF THE WEEK H0NORS: The PacWest Team of the Week is the CONCORDIA GOLDEN EAGLES. The Golden Eagles 15-game win streak came to a close but that didn't effect their winning ways as they went 5-2 last week against tough competition from the CCAA and GNAC. Concordia split doubleheaders with No. 19 CS San Marcos and No. 16 Northwest Nazarene, and also won games against CS Monterey Bay and Montana State Billings. CUI improved to 26-6 overall and they are 14-0 in PacWest games heading into a Tuesday-Wednesday series against Chaminade. In today's NFCA national poll, Concordia moved up to No. 17, the second highest ranked team in the west region only behind Western Washington at No. 13.

PACWEST NEWS AND NOTES: With the PacWest tournament now just a little over a month away at Dominican (May 1-3), it's time to start taking a closer look at the battle to qualify. The top four teams at the end of the regular season will make the trip to San Rafael for the double-elimination tournament. It's not straight math yet, as teams haven't yet played a completely balanced schedule, but here is the upper half of teams fighting for those four spots--Concordia (14-0), Chaminade (5-1), Azusa Pacific (7-3), Dominican (10-8) and Hawai`i Hilo (8-10)...The Vulcans put some space between themselves and the next team in the standings, Biola (3-9) by winning three of four games from the Eagles. During the week, Victoria Macias drove in ten runs in nine games for UHH, which included three home runs. Macias was named to the all-tournament team at the Tournament of Champions...Rain played a big role at the Tournament of Champions, washing out a few games. Azusa Pacific went 1-2 in Turlock and Hawai`i Hilo was 2-3.

THIS WEEK IN THE PACWEST: PacWest games return to the schedule today and tomorrow with Chaminade at Concordia. The Silverswords will then head to Biola for Friday-Saturday doubleheaders, while Academy of Art has the same schedule at Hawai`i Hilo. On Friday, Dominican will host CS East Bay in a non-conference doubleheader. To see the complete schedule, click here.
