Fresno Pacific in an epic 5-set battle in San Diego on Saturday to pull the two teams into a tie for the PacWest title with 11-1 records. PLNU gets the No. 1 seed based on that victory. 24 hours earlier

#1 Point Loma: The Sea Lions head to Hawai`i with a 22-3 overall record and No. 1 ranking in the NCAA West Region. The Sea Lions have won 10 of their last 11 matches, despite not having 2024 PacWest Player of the Year
Abigail Nua for the last six matches. Ranked No. 2 in the latest national poll, Point Loma has the PacWest leader in kills, Nua (4.94 per set), assists in
Sophia Baugh (11.31) and digs with
Macy Reynolds (5.01). Head coach
Jonathan Scott is in his 12
th season with a career mark of 205-111. This is Point Loma’s second title in the past three seasons.
#2 Fresno Pacific: The Sunbirds dream season continues, boasting a 23-1 record, a No. 2 West Region ranking and a No. 9 national listing. This is FPU’s first PacWest title and highest NCAA national ranking. The former NAIA power was ranked fifth in the PacWest preseason coaches poll before reeling off 23 consecutive victories. The Sunbirds are balanced and efficient, leading the conference in opponent hitting percentage (.137).
Mikayla Weiss is third in assists (9.25) and hitting percentage (.398). HC
Kelsee Montagna is in her second season, having turned the program around from a 13-16 mark in 2023.
#3 Chaminade: The host Silverswords, who were the PacWest regular season champions in 2021, 2022, and 2024, will host the first PacWest volleyball championship in 25 years. CUH is 16-13 overall and finished 9-3 in league play (tied with Hawai`i Hilo) with a roster that is much different than 2024. Chaminade has won four of their last five matches heading into the tournament and have one of the top defenses in the league. Head coach

#4 Hawai`i Hilo: The Vulcans make the short trip to Oahu with a 20-8 overall record and they are ranked tenth in the NCAA West Region poll. First-year head coach
Reed Sunahara comes home to Hilo after a storied playing and coaching career, which includes over 400 wins at the Division I level. 6-foot-3 middle
Isabella Freeman leads the conference in blocks (1.33 per set) and setter
Emerson Reinke is second in assists (10.36). The Vulcans are hot at the right time, having won 10 of their last 11 matches.

Team of the Week: Vanguard went 2-0, which included a big upset at Point Loma in four sets. The Lions also finished strong with a 5-set comeback victory over Concordia to wrap up its 2025 season with an impressive overall mark of 18-8. They were 6-6 in PacWest play.
Player of the Week: Point Loma's Sophia Baugh set a PacWest 2025 single-match high with 67 assists during the 5-set nailbiter with Fresno Pacific. The conference leader in that category averaged 10.4 assists per set for the week and also had 44 total digs. It is the third PacWest Player of the Week award this year for Baugh.
Defender of the Week: Fresno Pacific’s Devyn Castaneda had 30 digs in that titan clash in San Diego and added 17 one night earlier in a big win for the Sunbirds over Biola. That dig total is the third highest in the PacWest this season. Castaneda averaged 5.2 digs per set on the week, capturing her second defender award in the last three weeks.
