RIVERSIDE, Calif.--Hawai`i Hilo recorded a -7 team score and
Katsuhiro Yamashita shot a final day 68 to finish at -5 to highlight PacWest efforts at the NCAA Division II West Region Men's Golf Championships.
The Vulcans were 16th overall of 20 teams and Yamashita was 20th of 110 of the west's top golfers.
No. 1 nationally ranked Colorado Christian raced away from the field at the Victoria GC in Riverside with a team score of -46. Oklahoma Christian was the next closest team at -32.
The Vulcans, the only PacWest team in the regional field, had a solid round today to move up two spots. Yamashita shot a 68 and
Jacob Torres had a 69 to finish at even par for the three-day event.
Dylan Bercan and
Ben Crinella both finished the 54 holes at +1.
At-large entries
Giulio Zanichelli of Academy of Art and
Fisher Ransom of Hawaii Pacific finished at +4 and +9 respectively.
The individual medalist was Oskari Nikku of Oklahoma Christian (-17), with Saugha Park of Colorado Christian in second at -14.
