Fresno Pacific's Brianna Green ran her way to numerous first place finishes, honors and medals this year during a record-breaking year for the Sunbird star.
Today, Green also earned the conference's top individual honor as the 2024-25 Pacific West Conference Female Athlete of the Year. The award is voted on by the conference's athletic directors and includes nominees from all of the conference's eight female sports.
Green helped her Sunbird team to a fourth place finish at the NCAA Championships, the highest placing in program history. The Florida native earned three All-American awards and two national championships, including winning it all in the 400 meter hurdles with a personal record time of 56.88. The Florida native won that title race by nearly a full second, and ran legs on two Fresno Pacific All-American relay teams. It was the first track and field individual title in Fresno Pacific history.
Green’s 4x100 relay foursome set NCAA Division II all-time and national championship record with a scorching time of 43.85. Her 4x400 relay squad finished third for another trip to the podium with a time of 3:33.12. This came after a dominant performance by Green at the PacWest Championships in April.
The graduate student won the PacWest Track Athlete of the Year and the USTFCCCA West Region Track Athlete of the Year. At the PacWest Championships, Green earned Track Athlete of the Meet after medaling in four events. Green's first gold of the day came with her teammates in the women's 4x100m relay. Green followed that up with a second-place finish in the 100m hurdles and a first-place finish in the in the 400m hurdles where she defended her title and set a new PacWest Championship meet record with a time of 57.85, a whole 2.4 seconds ahead of the field. Green finished the day with her teammates defending the Sunbirds title in the 4x400 relay.
Green is the first Fresno Pacific athlete to win the PacWest Female Athlete of the Year. She is the third track and field athlete to be selected for the honor.
The St. Augustine, Florida native spent her first two seasons at the College of the Redwoods. She received her bachelors in psychology and is planning to study sports psychology for her masters. She will compete unattached and try to make the USATF team before beginning her masters program.
