Mendoza and Richardson are Peaking at Right Time

FPU's Avril Mendoza is the PacWest Field Athlete of the Week and APU's Hannah Richardson is the Field Athlete heading into the PacWest Championships this week in San Diego.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week – Avril Mendoza (Fresno Pacific)
Mendoza ran 58.57 in the 400-meter hurdles, moving her up the PacWest performance list while also nearing NCAA Division II national qualifying range. 

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week – Hannah Richardson (Azusa Pacific)
Richardson posted a 15.05m (49-4½) shot put, one of the top throws in the PacWest this season and a mark that places her firmly in the NCAA Division II national landscape. 

News and Notes: Fresno Pacific’s Mattie Whipple ran 2:12.63 in the 800 meters, moving into one of the top spots in the PacWest this season and into NCAA Division II provisional consideration... Biola’s Eboselulu Omoselulu posted 13.82 in the 100-meter hurdles, a mark that ranks among the conference leaders and meets NCAA provisional standards... Concordia Irvine’s Olivia Holmquist cleared 1.68m (5-6) in the high jump, placing her among the top performers in the PacWest and within reach of national qualifying marks.

LOOKING AHEAD: PacWest teams will travel to the Conference Championship this weekend, hosted by Point Loma in San Diego, CA. Events begin on Friday, April 24th at 8 AM.
