It’s now an eight-day drive on the road to the 2026 Pacific West Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships.
Each team in the PacWest has anywhere from 2-4 games remaining before the regular season wraps up on Saturday, February 28.
The top six teams after the conference schedule is completed will qualify to make the trip to San Diego and Golden Gymnasium for the PacWest tournaments. The winner of the single elimination event earns the PacWest's automatic berth into the NCAA tournament.
For the men,
Point Loma is the only team that has officially clinched a berth in the tournament. The Sea Lions (16-3) have a three-game lead over
Westmont (13-6) and have secured at minimum a share of the conference regular season title.
After those two frontrunners, it’s a tight pack of eight teams battling for the remaining four spots. Incredibly, only 2.5 games separate those eight hopefuls. Those eight are
Hawaii Pacific (12-8),
Concordia (11-8),
Chaminade (11-8),
Fresno Pacific (11-8),
Jessup (11-9),
Dominican (10-9),
Vanguard (9-9) and
Biola (9-10).
On the women’s side, the scenario is completely different. Only one-half game separates the top three teams in the standings and 1.5 games divide the top four. Five teams have already clinched a spot in the tournament, and only one slot remains available.
Vanguard (15-3),
Point Loma (15-4) and
Westmont (15-4) are virtually dead even, with
Azusa Pacific (14-5) still in the hunt.
Dominican (13-6) has secured a tournament berth.
Concordia (11-8) currently sits in a pretty secure sixth place, but still mathematically alive are
Biola (9-10) and
Menlo (8-11).
