It was the second weekend of crossover tournaments, and Concordia takes the Team of the Week honor again after a 5-2 week. Golden Eagle Kacie Gossett was almost unhittable in gaining two wins and two saves. Azusa Pacific, who went 4-2, was paced by the scorching bat of Julia Doan, who hit .583 and drove in 11 runs.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Azusa Pacific’s Julia Doan, UTL, Jr., 5-6, San Clemente, Calif.
Azusa Pacific’s Julia Doan was a very tough out during the Cougars’ 4-2 week. The junior left-handed hitting utility player went 14-for-24 (.583) with 11 RBI, nine runs scored, a double, three triples and a home run. She also stole two bases for the Cougars and had multiple hits in five of APU’s six games. She had three hits each against Colorado Mesa, Stanislaus State and Cal Poly Humboldt, and she drove in five against the Lumberjacks with a triple and home run. Doan is now hitting .486 with 12 runs scored and 12 RBI in 10 games.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Concordia’s Kacie Gossett, RHP, Soph., 6-0, Upland, Calif.
Concordia’s Kacie Gossett had two wins and two saves during a 5-2 week for the Golden Eagles against Northwest Nazarene and the D2 West Coast Challenge at Lake Elsinore. The sophomore righthander pitched a five inning one-hitter in a 6-1 win over Simon Fraser, with no walks and five strikeouts. She also picked up a win in relief against CSU Monterey Bay, and had saves against NNU and Western Oregon. In four appearances, the 2025 Third Team All-PacWest pick pitched 12 innings, allowed just one run, walked one and struck out ten.
TEAM OF THE WEEK: The PacWest Team of the Week is the
Concordia Golden Eagles. CUI split with Northwest Nazarene in Irvine before going 4-1 in Lake Elsinore. Coach
Crystal Rosenthal’s squad topped Simon Fraser (6-1), Stanislaus State (9-2), Western Oregon (4-1) and CSU Monterey Bay (7-2). Their only loss at the D2 West Coast Challenge was to Colorado Christian, 4-3. The Golden Eagles are now a PacWest best 9-3 overall.
THIS WEEK IN THE PACWEST: A full slate of non-conference games continues for PacWest teams this week. The Hawaii schools will take turn hosting Cal Poly Humboldt, while Dominican and Menlo will play in Turlock against CSU East Bay, St. Martin’s and Central Washington. Biola went 2-2. There were 21 teams in the field, with CSU East Bay and Colorado Christian both going 5-0 and host CSU San Marcos winning all four of their games.
