PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jessup’s Evangelina Chavarria, Jr., DP/P, 5-10, San Jose, Calif.
Jessup’s Evangelina Chavarria played a major role offensively and defensively for Jessup during their huge doubleheader sweep of Dominican. She picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle in the Warriors’ 8-5 victory over the Penguins, but it was at the plate that she turned in the best performance of the week. She went 6-for-7 in the two games with 8 RBI and two doubles, and especially mashed in the first game with seven RBI. With the two wins, the Warriors clinched their first PacWest tournament slot and eliminated Dominican at the same time.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Hawaii Pacific’s Lily Pardini, RHP, Fr., 5-6, Petaluma, Calif.
Hawaii Pacific’s Lily Pardini is the Pitcher of the Week after shutting down red-hot Hawaii Hilo. The freshman righthander pitched a complete game, three-hit shutout to snap the Vulcans’ 9-game winning streak. Pardini allowed just three hits and one walk, and fanned two. It was the first shutout of the season for the rookie. She allowed just two singles and a triple to pick up her third win of the year.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: The PacWest Team of the Week is the Concordia Golden Eagles. CUI took two games from Azusa Pacific, a fellow tournament team the last three seasons, to eliminate the Cougars from 2026 postseason play. The Golden Eagles topped the Cougars 4-1 and 10-0 to win their 40th game of the season (40-14) and they are 29-7 in PacWest play. Earlier in the week, they split a pair of one-run games with #3 nationally ranked CSU San Marcos, losing 3-2 but winning 4-3. Jayden Nishi threw a shutout against APU on four hits, and also got the win against CSUSM. Audrey Robles and Morgan Kneubuhler had two home runs each against the CCAA Cougars and Robles also had a round-tripper against APU.

PACWEST NEWS AND NOTES: We have our four. Concordia and Biola had clinched previously, and Hawaii Hilo and Jessup joined the foursome of teams playing next week in La Mirada at the PacWest Championship tournament (May 5-7). The only thing left to be decided are the final seedings and the conference champ. Concordia (29-7) has a half game lead over Biola (28-7). The Golden Eagles are done, while Biola may still play a make-up game at Menlo. Hawaii Hilo (21-11) still has two games with Hawaii Pacific, while Jessup is done and awaits the outcomes.

THIS WEEK IN THE PACWEST: The schedule is lite in the final week of the regular season. Friday-Saturday shows a four-game series between Vanguard and Dominican, while Hawaii Pacific plays a doubleheader on Friday in Hilo. Looming is a possible make-up game between Biola and Menlo.
