Concordia swept their three island visitors for a perfect 3-0 week. Offensively, they were led by Kayden Croy, who hit .441 on the week and averaged 3.56 kills per set. Point Loma went 2-0 with Kira Federico anchoring the Sea Lion defesne with 4.44 digs per set.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Concordia Golden Eagles                                                                                          
Concordia is the Team of the Week after posting three wins, all 3-0 sweeps. Included in those conquests were two wins over teams picked to finish ahead of them in the coaches preseason poll (Hawaii Hilo and Chaminade). Including a win over Hawaii Pacific, the Golden Eagles won those three matches over a span of four days. CUI improved to 4-0 in league play and have earned sweeps in nine of their 10 wins this season. Concordia head coach Eryn Leja-Martin also earned career win No. 250 (spanning her time from Vanguard, St. Katherine and now CUI).

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Concordia’s Kayden Croy, OH, Sr., 6-1, Riverside, Calif.                                     
Concordia’s Kayden Croy led Concordia in kills in all three victories this week. She hit a whopping .441 with 32 total kills and averaged 3.56 kills/set while also disrupting at the net on defense. The senior had a hand in 14 blocks during CUI's three home sweeps of the Hawaii schools. She also ranks Top 8 in the league in both kills/set (6th) and hitting percentage (8th). This is her second PacWest Player of the Week award, as she also earned the honor once in 2025.

DEFENDER OF THE WEEK: Point Loma’s Kira Federico, DS, Sr., 5-5, Peoria, Ariz.                                   
Point Loma’s Kira Federico had 23 digs against Hawaii Pacific and 17 more versus Chaminade as the Sea Lions won two to improve to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in PacWest play. She averaged 4.44 digs per set and the 23 digs in the 5-setter against the Sharks is a season high for the Arizona native. That’s the 21^st Defender of the Week honor all-time for Point Loma, the most of any school in the history of the conference.

PACWEST NEWS AND NOTES: Biola had just one match last week, winning a tough 5-setter against Hawaii Hilo. That is the eighth straight win for the Eagles, improving to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in the PacWest. Julianna Van Ommering had 15 kills in the match and eight digs while Alex Strating had seven block assists and eight kills…Dominican also had just one match, defeating Westmont in five sets. Sophia Bernabe had 25 digs in that match and Jordan Weston had nine blocks…In Point Loma’s two wins, setter Sophia Baugh had 71 assists, 15 digs, 5 aces and 10 kills…West Region teams listed in last week's AVCA National Rankings are No. 4 Fresno Pacific, No. 9 CSU San Bernardino, No. 15 Cal Poly Pomona, No. 16 Point Loma, No. 19 Alaska and No. 21 Simon Fraser. The next poll is expected to be released later today.

LOOKING AHEAD: Ten matches are on the schedule this week, all of them PacWest counters. That starts today (Monday) with some big matches on tap—Hawaii Hilo at Point Loma, Chaminade at Vanguard, and Hawaii Pacific at Biola. On Tuesday, Chaminade visits Biola. Friday shows Concordia at Jessup and Point Loma at Dominican. Saturday features Point Loma at Jessup, Concordia at Dominican and Westmont at Vanguard.
