IRVINE, Calif. -- For the first time since joining the PacWest in 2017, Biola leads the Commissioner's Cup standings after winning the men's cross country title and finishing in the top half of the standings in all five fall sports.

The top four teams in the standings are all within one point of each other with Point Loma in second place followed by Concordia and Azusa Pacific. After being in seventh place at the end of the fall season last year, Hawai`i Pacific is now in fifth place with 8.6 points followed by Fresno Pacific and Hawai`i Hilo.
For the second year in a row, Biola won the PacWest Men's Cross Country Championships and
Gabe Plendcio also defended his individual title to give Biola a 0.375 lead in the Commissioner's Cup standings. The Eagles took third place in women's cross country and also got a top-3 finish in women's soccer, which was one of the most exciting title races of the fall season as the top-3 teams all went into the final two weeks of the season unbeaten.
Point Loma defended its PacWest title in women's soccer title, going unbeaten during conference play this season. The Sea Lions also took third place in men's soccer. Point Loma finished the conference standings in second place last year, which was the school's best finish since joining the PacWest.
Concordia finished runner-up in both men's and women's soccer this year. The women's soccer team tied its final game of the year to take second place by one point. The Eagles also finished in fourth place in both men's and women's cross country.
The defending Commissioner's Cup winner Azusa Pacific is in fourth place at the end of the fall season. The Cougars won two PacWest titles in the fall, defending their championships in both volleyball and men's soccer. Azusa Pacific went undefeated in men's soccer, and the volleyball team finished the regular season on a 10-match winning streak to clinch the title.
The only new PacWest champion in the fall season was Fresno Pacific women's cross country, which won its first PacWest title in program history. The Sunbirds are in sixth place in the PacWest standings. Academy of Art was in ninth place at this time last year and is now in eighth place followed by Notre Dame de Namur and Chaminade in a tie for ninth place. Dominican and Holy Names round out the standings.
