IRVINE, Calif. – This week’s PacWest Players of the Week are Isaac Cordova from Biola and Mariia Borodii from Fresno Pacific.
 
MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Isaac Cordova, Biola
Fr. – El Paso, Tex.
Cordova led Biola to its second win of the season against a non-conference opponent, sweeping Cal Lutheran 8-0 on Saturday. The freshman played No. 2 doubles and No. 2 singles in the match and went undefeated. Partnered with Alex Sedeño the two newcomers to the Biola tennis program notched an 8-2 victory. In singles, Cordova won his match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
 
WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mariia Borodii, Fresno Pacific
Sr. – Zaporozhye, Ukraine
Borodii earned her second win of the season at No. 1 singles against a PacWest opponent, winning in straight sets to remain undefeated against NCAA Division II opponents. The senior won her singles match 6-1, 6-4. In doubles, she partnered with Lea Falentin for a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, leading Fresno Pacific to a 7-0 victory. The Sunbirds are 2-0 against PacWest opponents this year.
