Cougars End Tennis Reign with Crown

Azusa Pacific won its fifth PacWest men's tennis title this year, leaving Division II on a high note. See where they rank all-time in the updated PacWest record book.

Azusa Pacific has been the dominent player in recent years in Pacific West Conference men's tennis, and they finished their reign with another title in their final opportunity.

The Cougars will leave for NCAA Division III next year, but they have inked their good name all over the PacWest record books. Here are just a few entries.

*APU, under head coach Mark Bohren, won their fifth crown this spring in Surprise, Arizona, which was also their fourth trophy in the last five years. Only Hawaii Pacific has more with seven.

*The 2026 tournament Most Valuable Player Soeren Grandke won his sixth, seventh and eighth tournament singles matches this year, placing him tied for second all-time in tournament wins. 

*Biola's Adam Large won his sixth career match, combining his Eagles career with his Concordia playing time. 

*HPU's Mile Matic and Adam Vasir also won their sixth PacWest tournament singles matches.
