NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev.--Hawaii Pacific and
Hawaii Hilo took one step further to solidify that the Pacific West Conference men's golf championship trophy will stay in Hawai`i.
After 36 holes, the Sharks and Vulcans are 1-2 on the team leaderboard.
Next on the team scoring sheet after Hawaii Pacific (-8) and Hawaii Hilo (-6) is
Menlo (+3),
Academy of Art (+13),
Jessup (+18),
Dominican (+32),
Westmont (+33),
Vanguard (+39) and
Chaminade (+50).
Hilo's Dylan Bercan and
HPU's Fisher Ransom continued their assault on the leaderboard. Bercan duplicated his round of 68 on Monday to go to 8-under-par. Ransom checks in at -7 (68-69), and
Kyle Krupp of
Hawaii Pacific is next at -6. Bercan had three birdies and an eagle (hole 11) on Tuesday, and Krupp had an eagle on 14. Krupp had the low round of the day with a 67. Ransom carded four birdies and one bogey.
In fourth place is
Jessup's Michael Sorber (-4), whose 68 helped him climb the Tuesday ladder.
Westmont's Ryan Brady is fifth after shooting a 68 today. Tied for sixth is
Katsuhiro Yamashita of Hilo (-2),
Paul Hautbourge (Menlo) and
Tyler Williams (Westmont).
Academy of Art's Giulio Zanichelli is next at -1 and
Nicolas-Guy Landry (Menlo) rounds out the top 10 at even par.
The Sharks Ransom and Krupp let HPU in team scoring, with help from
Shion Suzuki (73 today) and
Miles Atkinson (77). Hilo was led today by Bercan,
Jacob Torres and
Ben Crinella, with the latter two shooting even par 72 at the Aliante Golf Club.
