Hawaii Pacific’s Kyle Krupp and Dominican’s Jonathan Chen both finished just one shot away from medalist honors at the Stockton Invite. That duo finished at -4 over the two-round event to share Player of the Week honors.

Co-Player of the Week: Hawaii Pacific’s Kyle Krupp, Jr., 5-8, Cotati, Calif.
Hawaii Pacific’s Kyle Krupp fired dead even rounds of 70 and 70 at the D2 Visit Stockton Invite this week at The Reserve at Spanos Park. Krupp was in a pack of five players at -4 that finished just one shot away from the leader and tournament champ Rex Wilson of Western Washington. The California native had ten birdies and an eagle over the course of 36 holes played. Krupp is a two-time All-PacWest selection and was the 2024 PacWest Freshman of the Year.
Co-Player of the Week: Dominican’s Jonathan Chen, Fr., 5-7, Carmel, Calif.
Dominican’s Jonathan Chen posted rounds of 68 and 72 at the talented D2 Visit Stockton Invite, tying for second place with four other players, just one shot off the lead. The freshman was the tournament leader after his first round 68, which featured six birdies and two bogeys. On the second day, he had four birdies and but also had one bad hole to keep him from winning his first collegiate tournament.
PACWEST NEWS AND NOTES: The Stockton tournament was the only event on the slate last week, with six PacWest teams in attendance in the field of 21 squads. The loaded event was won by Colorado State-Pueblo at -7, with
Hawaii Hilo the top PacWest team in ninth place at +13.
Dominican was next (+14), followed by
Jessup (+19),
Westmont (+23),
Hawaii Pacific (+28) and
Vanguard (+34). After
Kyle Krupp and
Jonathan Chen, Dominican’s Daniel Marmorstein tied for seventh just one shot back at -3.
Jessup was led by
Jacobus Brakkee (even par), and
Hilo’s top player was
Dylan Bercan (even).
Vanguard was paced by
Tyler Williams (+4) and
Westmont’s Nicolas Rochs checked in at +4.
LOOKING AHEAD: Next up on the PacWest men’s schedule shows Menlo hosting Chaminade, Westmont and Hawaii Pacific (among others) at Morgan Hill, March 5-6. On March 9-10, six conference teams will be at CSU East Bay’s tournament—Hawaii Pacific, Dominican, Chaminade, Menlo, Vanguard and Hawaii Hilo.
