Menlo finished the season with an upset of PacWest champion Vanguard and a 2-0 mark for Team of the Week. Jessup’s Andheya Aurelio dialed it up from long range for 34 points against Chaminade and FPU’s Angela Whitfield had 20 rebounds and seven blocks in two games for the Sunbirds.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jessup’s Andheya Aurelio, G, Sr., 5-3, Hercules, Calif.
Jessup’s Andheya Aurelio drained nine three-point shots on 15 attempts on her way to 34 points during a 70-53 win over Chaminade. The senior guard scored almost half of her teams points, and got 27 of her 34 from way downtown. She also had four rebounds, four assists and three steals in the win. For the week, the sharpshooter had 43 points, eight assists, four steals and nine rebounds. Her 34-point game came on Senior Day at Jessup, and her nine treys is a new Warrior school record and second all-time in PacWest history.
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK: Fresno Pacific’s Angela Whitfield, G, Sr., 6-0, Fresno, Calif.
Fresno Pacific’s Angela Whitfield averaged 10 rebounds a game and had seven blocked shots in the final two games of her career. The local product from Fresno had a double-double in a 4-point loss to Dominican with 11 points and 14 rebounds. She also had six blocked shots and five assists in an all-around stat page filler. She totaled 10 assists for the week, and her 14 boards equaled her career high.
TEAM OF THE WEEK: Menlo is the Team of the Week after pulling off one of the biggest upsets of the year during a 57-54 win over league champ Vanguard. The Lions got off to a 20-3 start early in the contest and led by 20 at the break, but the Oaks had an incredible 36-12 second half to pull out the victory. Senior
Alberte Frisch had 18 points and
Jayonnah Carter added 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals in the major upset. Earlier in the week, the Oaks beat Chaminade 71-53, led by
Mehkia Applewhite’s 14 points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Menlo finished 11-11 in PacWest play, just missing the tournament by one game.
