There was no movement at the top and only some shuffling in the middle in the second Pacific West Conference men’s and women’s tennis seedings for April 1.
A small sample size of matches was the main reason, but this coming week has a very healthy schedule of matches between PacWest teams that will certainly come into play in next Monday’s list.
This is the second of three rankings to determine the final field. The seeding committee will meet next Monday, April 6 to determine the tournament fields, and then come together one final time on April 12 to put the final seedings in place.
There were only four men’s matches that contributed to the data and 11 women’s matches. Prior to the final listing, 12 more women’s matches featuring PacWest vs. PacWest teams will be played and eight men’s battles will be contested.
The 2026 Pacific West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Championships will be held April 15-17 in Surprise, Arizona. Six teams will qualify on the men's side to compete and eight will advance from the women's seeding list to the tournament at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex.
The second rankings of 2026, voted on by a committee of six administrators from PacWest schools (two from each geographical pod) list all nine men's teams and all 14 women's programs.
The top three criteria (from a list of seven) for the selection committee to consider is head-to-head results, followed by records against common D-II (PacWest) opponents. The third criteria is an ITA Collegiate Tennis Ranking algorithm that takes into account matches against all Division II opponents, and the strength of schedule for those opponents.
Here are today’s rankings. All records listed are through Tuesday, March 31, and include ONLY wins and losses against PacWest teams.
