Hilo Wins Women's Title, Westmont's Camara is the PacWest Champ

Hawaii Hilo wins their first team title since 2014, by two shots over Point Loma. Camara leads from start to finish to claim medalist honors by two shots.

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev.—Hawaii Hilo took the lead for the first time in the tournament on the final day on their way to the 2026 Pacific West Conference Women’s Golf Championship on Wednesday afternoon at the Aliante Golf Club.

The Vulcans won their first title since 2014 by two shots over Point Loma, who overcame a rough first day to charge up the leader board the rest of the tournament. They were tied with the Vulcans at one point during the final round before Hilo slipped ahead.

Hilo finished at +31, with the Sea Lions right behind at +33.

Westmont’s Hannah Camara led from nearly start to finish to win medalist honors. She was even par for the tournament, finishing two shots ahead of Menlo’s Kim Penzold. Isabella Iorio of Hawaii Pacific was third (+3) and Elle Otani (Hilo) and Theresa Shaw (Vanguard) tied for fourth at +4.

Hawaii Hilo trailed by two shots at the end of round one and two. But they stayed steady while the previous leaders moved up and down. They had the second best round on the final day (+7), to hold off Point Loma (+4), who had the best team score on Wednesday.

The Sea Lions, who trailed by 16 after the first 18 holes, charged all the way back to tie for the lead late in the third round.

Dominican, who led after the second round, finished in third at +43. Westmont was fourth (+50) and Hawaii Pacific was fifth (+61).

Camara led from start to finish, with the exception of a couple of holes. She shot a scorching 68 on the first day and followed that with a pair of 74’s. She had a birdie and five pars over the last six holes to hold off Penzold who finished at +2 with rounds of 70, 74 and 74 respectively.

After that duo, Isabella Iorio (Hawaii Pacific) was next at +3. Tied for fourth were Elle Otani (Hilo) and Theresa Shaw (Vanguard) at +4. In sixth and seventh were Point Loma’s Allie Nguyen and Annika Yturraide (+8). In eighth and ninth were Hilo’s Kiersten Saludares (+9) and Kailee McKee (+10). Rounding out the top ten was Trinity Ledgerwood (Hilo) and Isabella Gunasaysn (Point Loma) at +11.

Hawaii Hilo earns the PacWest’s automatic berth into the NCAA Super Regionals in Pueblo, Colorado, May 4-6. Others from the PacWest may also earn at-large berths in the tournament, which features schools and players from five conferences through the west and southwest.
