STOCKTON, Calif.--Hawaii Hilo is tied for sixth but just four shots back in a crowded field after day one at the NCAA West/South Central Region Men's Golf Championships at The Reserve at Sponos Park in Stockton.
The PacWest Conference champion Vulcans recorded a team score of -1, just four shots behind leader Western Washington (-5). The margin between the tournament leader and the tenth place team after the first day is just five shots.

Vanguard is 12th and
Dominican is 18th.
Hilo's Ben Crinella is tied for third on the leader board at -3, just three shots behind the medalist front runner, Liam Weaver of CSU San Marcos.
Vanguard's Tyler Williams is tied for tenth at -2 and
Dominican's Daniel Marmorstein is at -1.
The 20 teams will tee off again on Friday morning for the next 18 holes, with the final round slated for Saturday.
