Azusa Pacific Defends PacWest Men's Soccer Title

IRVINE, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific is back-to-back PacWest Men's Soccer Champions following Thursday's 4-1 win over Notre Dame de Namur as the Cougars won their third PacWest title in program history, recording a perfect record so far this season.

Azusa Pacific has a 10-0-0 record in conference play and has won all 17 matches so far this season, which ties the PacWest single-season record. The Cougars are looking to complete the first perfect season in PacWest history on Saturday against Dominican. They have outscored opponents 35-6 in conference games so far this year.

The Cougars earn the PacWest's automatic bid to compete in the NCAA Super Region 4 tournament, where they are currently ranked No. 1. If Azusa Pacific holds onto that top seed, it would have a first-round bye and the right to host the opening rounds of the postseason. The NCAA Selection Show will be on Monday.
