Point Loma is making their fifth NCAA appearance in the last six seasons. They won the Pacific West Conference regular season and tournament titles, and take a 27-5 record into Friday game against Seattle Pacific. The Falcons (18-15) were upset winners of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference tournament, beating No. 1 seed Central Washington.

Biola lost in the conference semifinals on a three-point buzzer beater against Academy of Art, but was still secure in their NCAA postseason position. Their 22-7 record is their best since becoming an NCAA Division II member in 2018.
