Vanguard will continue their men's golf seasons at the NCAA South Central/West Region tournament, May 7-9 in Stockton, Calif.
That trio of PacWest schools will join ten total squads from the West Region and ten more from the South Central. Additionally, four individual players from each region, not on those 20 teams, were picked as well.
Hawaii Paciic's Kyle Krupp and
Jessup's Jacobus Brakkee are part of that selection,
The Vulcans earned the PacWest's automatic berth into the tournament by winning the PacWest title last week. The Lions and Penguins earned at-large berths, selected by a committee of coaches and administrators in the west, and then finalized by the NCAA national committee.
At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals, May 18–22 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year’s head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven. The finals will be hosted by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority:
