Burdick, Sharks Capture Women's Golf Awards

Jessup's Jessica Burdick shoots one-under par to finish third at RJGA while Hawaii Pacifiic stands fifth in Tucson.

As the regular season winds down, Jessup’s Jessica Burdick is in high gear with another solid performance. She is the Player of the Week, while Hawaii Pacific wins Team of the Week with Shuiyun He leading the way.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jessup’s Jessica Burdick, Jr., 5-7, Rocklin, Calif.                                         
Jessup’s Jessica Burdick made a run at medalist honors this week at Western New Mexico’s tournament, held in Goodyear, Arizona. The local product from Rocklin was one-under par for the two-day, 36-hole tournament to finish in third place in a deep field of 142 golfers. The junior shot a 74 on the first day but then charged back with a sizzling round of 69, the second best score of round two. She had four birdies and an eagle on Tuesday, to finish just four shots away from the title. This is Burdick's second Player of the Week honor.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Hawaii Pacific Sharks                                                                                                                                                                                                                            
Hawaii Pacific is the Team of the Week after finishing fifth at West Texas A&M’s tournament in Tucson. The Sharks ended up in the upper half of the 14-team field, made up of top teams in the west. They had identical rounds of +18 over the two days. Shuiyun He led the way with a +4 finish, tying for fourth place in the field of 76 golfers. Isabella Iorio was next for the Sharks with a final tally of +8.

PACWEST NEWS AND NOTES: At Western New Mexico’s tournament, Hawaii Hilo finished in 11th and Point Loma and Jessup tied for 13th. Kiersten Saludares was the top scorer for the Vulcans in 16th place at +3, while Annika Yturralde was Point Loma’s top player at +6. There were 27 teams in the large event at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear…Hawaii Hilo was eighth the weekend previous at the West Texas A&M tournament in Tucson (Ventana Canyon GC). Kailee McKee was UHH’s top finisher at +6 with identical rounds of 75.

LOOKING AHEAD: Just one tournament remains before the PacWest Championships on April 20-22, 2026 in North Las Vegas at the Aliante Golf Club. Next Monday-Tuesday a trio of teams will wrap up the regular season in Chico—Westmont, Dominican and Menlo.
